A Photographic Guide to Birds of Galapagos and Ecuador

The Galapagos Penguin is the rarest and most endangered in the world according to the Galapagos Conservancy. They are the only penguin species that is found in the Equator. In 1968 the Galapagos had a limit of 12,000 visitors a year. By 2015 there were 10 times more tourists than the original limit.

The pages of this project were all taken from a second hand book for tourist bird-watching in Ecuador and Galapagos.

As a child I always liked looking at photos in animal encyclopedias. With the increasing global warming, I wonder what these books will look like in a future with the extinction of so many species.
